However, this protocol presented several difficulties for their father. He nearly tripped and fell multiple times while trying to hold the blanket and use his walker in the hospital. The blanket frequently dropped, increasing the risk of potential infections by touching various surfaces. Their father even sustained a foot injury when his chest tube box dropped out of the blanket it was wrapped in.

Witnessing their father's struggles with pain, weakness, frequent coughing, and shortness of breath during his approximately six-week recovery period inspired Angel and Amanda to seek a better solution. They wanted to create a hands-free option that would provide constant protection to the surgical area.
